OutReach

The responsibility to help make the world around us a better place, falls to us all. From around the corner to around the globe, Grace Church parishioners are involved in a host of projects for different causes. Volunteering in an OutReach initiative is a wonderful way to meet other parish members, as well as members of the community. We invite you to join us in working on those causes which resonate  most with you.

Churches on-the-Hill Food Bank

This food bank, which is the second largest in Toronto, is located at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church on St. Clair Avenue West. All Grace Church, and indeed all 8 of the churches on-the-hill, support the food bank with donations of food and funds, and considerable volunteer support. Paul McGrath of Grace Church is the current President.

Habitat for Humanity

This non-profit organization helps build homes in the city for people who need them. There are many ways to help them out: from manual labour, to donating supplies – last year Grace volunteers provided dinner at worksite off Kingston Rd.

Moorelands Camp Work Party

For the last 10 years, a Grace Church team has spent a September weekend working at Moorelands Camp, near Dorset, Ontario, on Lake Kawagama.

Annual Churches on-the-Hill Food Drive

Deer Park United Church took the lead in coordinating volunteers from all of the Churches on-the-Hill. After publicizing the drive in the neighbourhood,  food donations are collected, sorted and boxed donations. Last year we delivered more than 90 boxes of food to The Stop and the Churches on-the-Hill Food Bank.

The “Mitten Tree”

Joan Pringle has generously looked after this worthwhile project for many years, including promotion, setup, and distribution of the donated mitts, gloves, toques, and scarves. Last year Joan delivered over 100 items - gloves, scarves, hats, and baby clothing - to Moorelands Community Services, where they were distributed to families in need.

In addition to the initiatives above, Grace Church on-the-Hill also makes financial donations to many community organization.
