​Learn the fundamentals of guitar : technique, strumming, picking, note reading, tab reading, and music appreciation. Students learn to play popular music with special emphasis. on great Canadian artists.

Learn intermediate guitar concepts including: ensemble playing, fingerstyle guitar, improvising, note reading, theory, and improvising. We will strum popular songs but also investigate niche styles like country, blues, jazz, latin, funk and R&B

Learn the guitar in a group! Each class will include guitar music appreciation, technique, ensemble playing, strumming, and solo repertoire. Note reading is not mandatory, materials will be presented in TAB and standard notation . Repertoire: fingerstyle, hits from the 60s/70s/80s, classical, jazz, strummed Gospel, and popular hymns from the Anglican tradition played instrumentally in harmony in a guitar ensemble!!
